Commissioned for a design scheme for the Capella Hotel's Pineapple Room Bar.
The Pineapple Room pays homage to Singapore’s storied history, where the pineapple was first recognised for its suitability in 1824 and noted as abundant by 1841. Thriving in the Southern Islands, now known as Sentosa and the Telok Blangah area, pineapples became Singapore's third most cultivated crop by 1849.
The artwork is in a true botanical style in watercolour, depicting a full pineapple plant.
