Lido Leone: The Art of Resort Wear, Reimagined
There’s an undeniable romance in the evolution of creativity—a lifelong passion unfolding into something tangible, something wearable. For me, this evolution has taken form in Lido Leone, a resort wear label where art, textile, and craftsmanship converge in effortless sophistication.
Inspired by the breezy glamour and sun-soaked ease of resort living, Lido Leone is not just another resort wear brand. It is an intimate expression of my design philosophy: that clothing should not only be beautiful, but also crafted with precision, longevity, and sustainability at its core.
I wanted to create a brand that really spoke to people, and was the very antithesis of mass-produced fast-fashion. In doing this, I've worked to customise every little detail.....the branding *(by me), the textiles *(by me), the patternmaking *(by me) etc etc etc.
My journey to Lido Leone was not an abrupt departure from my years in architecture and interior design, but I think rather a natural progression. Known for my playful yet structured botanical illustrations, I feel that I've mastered the balance of softness and form. With Lido Leone, this attention to detail is paramount; I ensure that every pattern, every stitch, and every silhouette is purposeful and artisinal.
Each textile design is hand-painted in my Singapore studio before being digitally translated into seamless pattern repeats (no mean feat - IYKYK). From there, I collaborate with skilled artisans in India, bringing these illustrations to life through digital printing, embroidery, and screen printing. The result is a collection of resort wear that feels as luxurious as it looks—breezy linens, weightless cottons, and silks that drape like a second skin.
Sustainability Beyond the Fabric
The fashion industry’s sustainability conversation often fixates on materials and production ethics, but for me, while those are essential considerations, true sustainability goes further. Sustainability isn’t just about using organic fabrics, it’s about designing with intention, creating garments that women will cherish for years rather than just a season. Lido Leone’s approach to sustainability is rooted in quality. Rather than chasing fleeting trends, each piece is designed with enduring appeal. The cuts are timeless, the fabrics chosen for their longevity (we ONLY use natural fibres - you won't find polyester, or even rayon/viscose blends - this is a non-negotiable for me), and the craftsmanship honed to perfection. It’s a philosophy that resists fast fashion’s disposable culture, championing a slower, more thoughtful approach to dressing.
